The MVP Inertia in Proton plastic is a highly reliable, stable-to-understable fairway control driver. While the Fission version we discussed earlier is built for lightweight, maximum-flip distance, the Proton Inertia is engineered for durability, a stiff hand feel, and a slightly more stable flight path right out of the box.
Proton is MVP’s premium translucent, candy-like plastic blend. Choosing this material changes the disc’s performance in a few distinct ways:
- Incredible Structural Lifetime: Proton is the most durable plastic in MVP’s lineup. It is highly rigid and exceptionally resistant to gouges, scratches, and warping. If you play on rocky courses or heavily wooded tracks, the Proton Inertia will maintain its original factory flight numbers for years without breaking down.
- Beefier Out of the Box: Compared to the Fission Inertia, which flips up effortlessly from day one, the Proton version has a bit more "bite." It handles high-velocity releases and mild headwinds much better, making it highly trustworthy for flat-to-fade fairway shots.
- Stiff and Smooth Feel: The plastic feels firm and rigid in the hand, making it a favorite for players who dislike gummy or flexible rims. The smooth texture provides a clean release off the fingers, though it can become a bit slick in cold or rainy conditions compared to baseline Electron or Neutron plastics.
